Sleek, sophisticated and sexy, this Parisian inspired Cabaret and circus act takes turns from dazzling to comedic in a tight and international professional performance.

Well, well, well. Look at you go Spiegel Haus, you gorgeous thing.
Tucked away in the old City Carpark off Lonsdale Street, Spiegel Haus is a tented performance area that can accommodate between 400 to 1000 people, with a killer rooftop bar to boot.
This is my first visit to this newly constructed venue, and boy, does it deliver.
Turning up to review another show, which had sadly been cancelled, the Assistant Manager Emma kindly asked me to review Blanc De Blanc Encore and sit with the staff as this cabaret conquered the critical hearts of Melbourne.
And WOW! What a show!
Champagne flows as corks are popped with this elegant production designed by Strut & Fret and directed by Scott Maidment. Firstly, the colour theme for the set and costumes by James Browne is outstanding. Dirty cream, black and silver shimmer on the bodies of the seven performers. Supported by the sleek choreography by Kevin Maher, which compliments the set and clothing with dramatic dance fluidity, the dancers excel with elegant pauses and touches of humour that define his impeccable style.
Then there are the performers. With a run time of two hours, including a 20-minute interval, I am astounded at the endurance of these seven skilled professionals.
From the soulful voice of Sunny Zhurba accompanied by toe tapping music, the aerial skills, flexibility and grace of Peter Holoda and Danielle Summers, the erotic dance moves of Teresa Ameneiro with some of the best lighting effects I’ve ever seen as the backdrop large red opaque spotlight moves with her, jaw dropping and neck twisting contortionist Mykhailo Makarov, or the impeccable comedy scenes of Mikael Bres and Felix Pouliot – you will not be disappointed.
Hilarity runs wild with audience participation. If you are of the wallflower variety, don’t panic. This well-rehearsed crew will only encourage those happy to shine in the limelight (good on you Rex!) and never push a joke too far. Nudity is discrete and really a tease. Just like all good cabaret.
I could go on but my face ached from laughing too much and I’m afraid the note taking lapsed!
Super, super, SUPER! Best fun I’ve had for a while, and it really helps when the performers are so adorably likeable, as well as superb athletes who make all these dances and circus tricks look easy. It’s a real pleasure to see performers who genuinely love what they are doing.
This is a MUST SEE!
Blanc De Blanc Encore is playing at Spiegel Haus until 30th April 2026.
