KABOOM

The maddest of mad scientists, Magnus D Magnus, is the ruler of the show KABOOM! Magnes D Magnes calls himself “the world’s stupidest genius and the smartest idiot”. He shows the audience mind-blowing science experiments and shocking explosions. I really recommend this show for kids who love to interact with what’s happening on stage. You get a chance to come up on the stage and be proud of yourself for making the experiment succeed! The audience gets lots of laughs out of it. If you want to see clear liquid (it looks like water, but I don’t know what it really was) turn into purple liquid, this is the show for you!

On his table he does his amazing experiments using his set of great equipment – like his bottle of water which he used to spray the audience, his special secret powder and his naughty experiment tub which he puts all the “naughty” experiments into that didn’t work. He has the world’s silliest moustache and a tremendously large pair of gloves. All the kids loved it, he knows his audience very well! He blows smoke rings from a bin and explains how air is a fluid. He also explains how Lego and chemistry are similar. He says a lot of funny kids jokes like: “Kids, don’t try this at home, try it at school where all your friends can see it!” He also sings a song about the periodic table, and I had no idea what that even is, but it is impressive how fast he can sing!

I asked my mum what she thought about the show for all the adults out there. She said she thought it was really nice to see all the kids enthralled and excited by science. But she also said she wished that he had explained a little bit more about the ingredients that he was using and maybe given some more guidance about safety. For example, after each experiment he dumps all the chemicals in the same big bucket (the naughty experiment tub I mentioned) and she thought it was a miracle that it didn’t blow up. She said she liked that he encouraged kids to try things out, but she thinks some things really shouldn’t get mixed together so she wished he might have told us all that. She did really like that he used black light to make the test tubes glow and I did, too!

Magnus D Magnus (apparently his middle name is really “Danger” – it even says that on his driver’s licence!) even uses his body for science by catching his hand on fire. He finishes the show with a giant foam explosion! There are colourful bubbles and spectacular fire. This wonderful show is placed inside a magnificent dome. If you would like an interesting experience while watching a show, this is the right place. It is a great place to have this wonderfully planned show. Ages 6 – 10 would really enjoy this show, I certainly did!
