By George Dixon.

Danger Comic Master at Work.

No matter what you think, Tom Gleeson is undoubtedly a comedic master.

This wordsmith-storyteller is always fresh and on topic.

From the moment the spotlight hits, Tom is on, interacting with his audience in a way that draws them into the amazing and sometimes weird world of Gleeson.

Gleeson’s comedy is unapologetic; sometimes it’s “in-your-face”, or he says what others are thinking. It’s always said with a straight grin and a twinkle in his eye.

This performance is packed with new material, including the usual jab at local personalities that somehow places them in awkward situations at Tom’s expense, as the bad guy.

Out-of-touch highlights absurd life situations, and commentary that demonstrates how far and out of touch some people have become, especially Gleeson, who finds it hard relating to personalities that host only one hit show, yet is still humble, as demonstrated by providing a can of soft drink and a meat pie to a struggling person sitting outside a convenience store.

Gleeson’s reflection on aspects of his boyhood adventures had the audience in fits of laughter.

At times, there were tears of laughter.

The performance is perfectly timed, no one is left behind, the journey and adventures are easy to follow. Before you know it, the sixty minutes are over.

With no flat spots, Gleeson certainly knows how to hold the audience in the palm of his very capable hands.

Traditionally, the last minutes are spent with the audience in Q&A about the audience’s feedback on which parts of the set are true or false. This included additional aspects and backstory, which is just as funny as the story itself.

Gleeson’s highly entertaining profile provides a snippet of his style of comedy,

It’s not until you see him in full flight, in his natural environment of stand-up comedy do you truly get to appreciate the genius of Gleeson the Comic Master at Work.

If you’re looking for something that’s fresh, entertaining and hilariously funny, you can’t go past
