Excited Animal Records proudly announces the release of “Beetlejuice The Musical Live at the Regent Theatre Melbourne” available Oct 31st.
Beetlejuice The Musical! The Musical! The Musical! is the Broadway sensation making a Beautiful Sound all over the globe. For the first time, theatre lovers will be able to enjoy the 8-time Tony Nominated cult classic live, with Eddie Perfect’s new record label releasing a live cast recording of the 2025 Melbourne season.
Beetlejuice The Musical Live At The Regent Theatre Melbourne stars Tony nominated composer/lyricist Eddie Perfect as the stripy-suited demon, along with a stellar Australian cast that includes Karis Oka, Rob Johnson, Erin Claire, Elise McCann, Tom Wren, Angelique Cassimatis, Rebecca Ordiz, Noni McCallum and Adam Lyon.
Eddie Perfect, Beetlejuice composer/lyricist and lead performer launches EXCITED ANIMAL RECORDS – a home for Australian music theatre cast albums.
Perfect, known for his comedic lyricism, captivating melodies and darkly funny performances says that it’s about time the Australian music theatre community had a dedicated platform for showcasing its extraordinary talent: “The Melbourne season of Beetlejuice The Musical is one of the performing highlights of my life. The response from Australian audiences was passionate and loud, and what they wanted above all else? An Australia Cast album. So here it is. Beetlejuice The Musical Live At The Regent Theatre. It’s an album that feels like a night at the Regent, with all the laughter, tears, screams, scares and cheers audiences have come to expect. This Australian cast album represents the first recording since the original Broadway Cast Recording released in 2019, which has racked up over 350 million streams globally.
I created this album to celebrate the incredible cast, orchestra and crew of Beetlejuice The Musical Australia because I believe our Australian music theatre industry is an under-recognised world-class gem.
This album is the first release from Excited Animal Records, a label with a simple goal; to produce more, release more, and advocate for more quality cast recordings of Australian musicals, and to champion the artists and creators who make them.
Excited Animal Records is about capturing the anarchic spark that makes live theatre so special. We hope our debut release, and all releases to come, bring the thrill of music theatre to every Excited Animal”.
