After receiving standing ovations at last year’s Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne Int. Comedy Fest, and Edinburgh Fringe, Casey Filips’ award-winning character comedy Virtuoso is returning to Melbourne International Comedy Festival from April 8th to the 20th at the Melbourne Town Hall.
This part clown, part character comedy show follows Tobias (Casey Filips), a charming yet idiotic actor in an hour-long audition of a lifetime. With the dreams of becoming the next Hollywood superstar, and a black turtleneck-tights combo to match – Tobias will stop at nothing to give a career defining performance.
Only problem is, it doesn’t go well. He indulges himself in ridiculous warmups, forgets all his lines, and even tries debuting some of his own self-written material.
Will Tobias be able to deliver a performance of a lifetime, or will he be destined for a lifetime of delivering UberEats?
Virtuoso is a comic exploration of pursuing your dreams to the point of no return.
