LAST CHANCE TO CATCH THE TIME-TRAVELING HIT!
BACK TO THE FUTURE: The Musical Must Close January 2026
Following its electrifying Australian premiere in October at the Sydney Lyric, Australian producers Crossroads Live have announced that BACK TO THE FUTURE: The Musical will play its final performance on 25th January 2026.
The Australian production has drawn rave reviews from critics and theatregoers alike and the musical has been embraced globally as one of the most visually spectacular productions to ever hit the stage worldwide.
Crossroads Live Australia Chief Executive John Frost said, “I encourage anyone who hasn’t yet experienced BACK TO THE FUTURE: The Musical to book now and see this brilliant production in Sydney before it closes in January. It really is something special – and once it’s gone, it’s gone.”
From the creators of the original film trilogy, the musical is based on the first film which sees rock ‘n’ roll teenager Marty McFly accidentally transported back to 1955 in a time-travelling DeLorean invented by his friend, Dr. Emmett Brown. But before he can return to 1985, Marty must make sure his high school-aged parents fall in love in order to save his own existence.
The electrifying Australian cast is led by Tony Award winner Roger Bart as Doc Brown and newcomer Axel Duffy at the wheel as Marty McFly. Roger Bart, who originated the role in London and New York, brings his “boundless energy and comic genius” to Sydney, with critics calling him “a complete delight” (Limelight) whose “ease, joy, and sheer playfulness in the role are irresistible” (The Scoop).
Meanwhile, Axel Duffy shines as Marty McFly, with reviews praising his “sweet, endearing performance” and noting he “owns the show from the minute he walks onto the stage” (Daily Telegraph).
The stellar cast also includes Ashleigh Rubenach as Lorraine Baines, Javon King as Goldie Wilson and Marvin Berry, Thomas McGuane as Biff, and Ethan Jones as George McFly.
With the final tickets now officially on sale in Sydney, audiences are urged to book early to avoid missing out on the only chance to see this blockbuster musical in Australia.
