Book Week 2024: Reading is Magic

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast partners with City of Melbourne Libraries

to host intimate cast readings for Book Week 2024.

To celebrate this year’s Book Week Beauty and the Beast, currently playing at Her Majesty’s Theatre until the end of the year, has partnered with City of Melbourne Libraries to host free cast readings next week!

Young fans of Beauty and the Beast are encouraged to dress up at both the Docklands Library and narrm ngarrgu Library to meet the cast of Disney’s acclaimed new musical whilst hearing the story of Belle and her Beast.

Jayde Westaby, who plays Mrs Potts says, “When my son was young, I loved reading to him. As an actor, I did all the voices – I really enjoyed bringing the books to life. Now, our favourite tradition is creating a Book Week costume together every year”.

Book Week is held 17th – 23rd August 2024. This year’s theme is Reading is Magic.
