Briefs Factory returns to Arts Centre Melbourne with Bite Club: 2nd Serve

by | May 30, 2024

Brisbane’s award-winning cult cabaret mischief makers, circus stars and heart-stopping hooligans Briefs Factory present their brand-new show Bite Club: 2nd Serve on the Playhouse stage at Arts Centre Melbourne from 25 – 29 September 2024.

Australia’s favourite “carnie” queens will be serving up their signature camp-cabaret fantasy of circus, drag and comedy in a sultry showcase of outrageous entertainment. For the first time in the world-renowned boylesque troupe’s history, the production of Bite Club: 2nd Serve sees them joined on stage by songstress Sahara Beck fronting a live band and performing original music.  It’s a potent pairing that ups the ante in variety extravaganza.

Described as one of Australia’s most arresting performers, Sahara Beck’s soaring vocals will blast female pride power into the ferociously fierce displays of talent from the Brief Factory boys we know and love. Their slick tomfoolery will be bathed in suave synth, heady hooks and swelling strings, all set to a glorious pop pulse.

Co-creators, Shivannah (Fez Faanana) and former Las Vegas King of Burlesque, Mark ‘Captain Kidd’ Winmill, lead their delinquent show spawn; aerial marvel Thom Worrell, former gold medal-winning diver turned glamorous acrobat Luke Hubbard aka Nastia and Serenity, the cult-figure alter ego of Dylan Rodriguez who performs death-defying acrobatics and jaw-dropping stunts in stilettos.

Brett Rosengreen, an astounding dancer and choreographer who has worked with Kylie Minogue, Rhianna, Jay Z and Will.I.Am; top 10% globally ranked Roué Cyr master Rowan Thomas, and faboriginal Kamilaroi cowboy Dale Woodbridge-Brown round out a spectacular cast.

Briefs Factory last performed at Arts Centre Melbourne in 2019 with two sold out seasons of Briefs: Close Encounters.

This season’s offering, Bite Club: 2nd Serve is hilarious hedonism, talent and certified shade at its finest! Pack the concealer, pop on some sequins and throw your head back for a heart-shaped love bite from these joyous bombshells.
