Cast Announcement – Cruel Intentions

by | Nov 20, 2023

An exciting line-up has been unveiled for the upcoming production of Cruel Intentions: The ‘90s Musical.

The creative minds behind the production, Benjamin May (Director), Tim Wotherspoon (Musical Director), and Isabella Gallant (Choreographer), have assembled a talented cast of outstanding triple-threat performers to bring a dynamic perspective to this ultimate ’90s throwback.

In this reinterpretation, Tara Lide takes on the role of Kathryn Merteuil, the cunning and manipulative socialite who engages in the ultimate bet with her stepbrother, Sebastian Valmont, portrayed by Jordan Dwight. Holly Severn steps into the shoes of the new girl at school, Annette Hargrove, the virtuous daughter of the headmaster who becomes the target of Kathryn and Sebastian’s machinations. Bella Minniti portrays the sweet and naïve Cecile Caldwell entangled in a web of secrets, temptation, and the cruelest game of all: love, as she falls for her music teacher, Ronald Clifford played by Sebastian Sabir.

The cast is rounded out by Jake Elston (Blaine Tuttle), Claudia Haines-Cappeau (Marci Greenbaum/Dance Captain), Milli Higgins, Cameron McCredie (Greg McConnell), Jas Robinson (Cecile understudy), Xavier Smith, Felicity Stavis (Kathryn understudy/Mrs. Caldwell/Dr. Greenbaum), Kate Squires (Annette understudy), and Kaitlin West.

“For over two decades, Cruel Intentions has resonated with audiences, its themes of love and betrayal echoing across generations. This exhilarating journey, exploring the complexities of desire and consequence, continues to captivate hearts. I am delighted to lead an outstanding cast alongside the creative team, bringing the timeless allure of Cruel Intentions to the stage. Here’s to the enduring power of its narrative and the magic of live performance!” Tim Wotherspoon shared.

Featuring back to back iconic ’90s songs, such as “Bittersweet Symphony” (The Verve), “Every You and Every Me” (Placebo), “Bye Bye Bye” (*NSYNC), “Sometimes” (Britney Spears), “Just A Girl” (No Doubt), “Foolish Games” (Jewel), “Genie In A Bottle” (Christina Aguilera), “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” (Deep Blue Something), “Kiss Me” (Sixpence None the Richer), “Iris” (Goo Goo Dolls), “Candy” (Mandy Moore), “I’ll Make Love To You” (Boyz II Men), and more, the production promises to have audiences singing and dancing in the aisles!
