CLOC Musical Theatre is thrilled to present the razzle-dazzle musical comedy Nice Work If You Can Get It, opening 16 May 2025 at the National Theatre, St Kilda.
Set in the roaring 1920’s and brimming with toe-tapping tunes, madcap romance and zany bootleggers, this sparkling production promises a night of laughter, love and classic Broadway charm.
Featuring the timeless music of George and Ira Gershwin, including hits like “Someone to watch over me”, “Let’s call the whole thing off” and the title number “Nice Work If You Can Get It’”, this show is a delicious cocktail of slapstick humour and heartfelt moments.
At the heart of the story Jimmy Winter (Will Hanley), a wealthy playboy with a weakness for gin and chorus girls, who meets Billie Bendix (Lauren Holcombe), a tough bootlegging dame with a heart of gold. When their worlds collide, chaos, romance and hilarity ensue. Complete with mistaken identities, speakeasy secrets and plenty of tap-dancing flair.
