Freddie McManus is putting on a show about all the things he’s been putting off

by | Apr 26, 2024

He’s seen the damage procrastination can do… but overlooking and double booking are tough habits to break.

Fresh off the heels of his Melbourne International Comedy Festival- Best Newcomer nomination (2023) and sold-out shows at Sydney Comedy Festival (2023); Freddie delivers a fast-paced, red-hot hour of brand new material from one of Australia’s fastest rising comics.

Fans of his debut can expect the same balance of charm, chaos, keen observation and candour, with light-hearted anecdotes and uncanny impressions mixed in with tales of friends in recovery and his family’s ongoing grief: all handled with the same deft touch.

Lock it in your calendars and he’ll try his best to do the same.

FREDDIE MCMANUS was a standout performer from a young age: singing country music (national anthems) as the frontman (shortest) in a boyband (choir).

Born in the UK, Freddie has spent almost half his life in Australia, though his dual citizenship has done nothing to soften the rivalry between the two nations and has arguably made it worse. Since making Australia his permanent home, he has toured the country as a highly touted stand up and sketch performer for almost a decade; competing as an MICF RAW Comedy State finalist (2016), opening for Jim Jeffries at the State Theatre Sydney (2022), touring NSW with the Sydney Comedy Festival Roadshow (2023) and featuring in sell-out runs of cult hit shows ‘Mystery Flight’ (2023) and ‘The Audition Room’ (2024).

Freddie’s acclaimed solo stand-up debut ‘Freddie McManus Is Stoppable’ earned him a nomination for the Best Newcomer Award at Melbourne International Comedy Festival (2023) and sold out shows at Sydney Comedy Festival (2023).

Outside of stand-up, Freddie frequently appears on the Australian comedy-podcast circuit, having broadcast with Chloe Maddren on The Friend Request, Andrew Barnett’s Crowd Work and highly rated recurring spots on Community Noticeboard and Billy D’Arcy’s Get Around Me, amongst others.
