by | May 29, 2026

Prepare to be whisked away into a world of wonder as The Great Armando, a beloved favourite of the Melbourne Magic Festival, returns with his enchanting family show, Magia Magia.

Running for five shows only from July 7–11, 2026 at the Houdini Theatre as part of the official Melbourne Magic Festival program, Magia Magia is a fast-paced celebration of jaw-dropping illusions, interactive fun, laughter, and pure magic for audiences of all ages.

Originally from Italy and currently based in Naarm/Melbourne, The Great Armando has spent more than twenty years performing across three continents, charming audiences with his trademark humour and unmistakable Italian flair. His performances invite audiences into his bel mondo: a playful and enchanting world where the impossible happens right before your eyes, and everyone feels part of the experience.

Magia Magia blends visual magic, spontaneous comedy, and moments of genuine connection into a show that keeps children captivated while giving adults plenty to laugh about too. Whether he is making impossible objects appear, involving entire audiences in the action, or transforming a simple rope trick into something unexpectedly magical, Armando creates the kind of moments families talk about long after the show is over.

A cherished part of the Melbourne Magic Festival since 2016 and winner of the festival’s prestigious Children’s Show Award, The Great Armando has become known for performances that are energetic, deeply interactive, and filled with heart.

Audiences have called his shows “brilliant,” “mind-blowing,” and “an absolute hit,” with one parent putting it simply: “The kids haven’t stopped talking about it.”

At its heart, Magia Magia is a joyful 50-minute escape into a world where wonder still feels possible.
