Melbourne Shakespeare Company – Robin Hood

by | Feb 4, 2025

This March, Melbourne families are in for a rollicking good time with Melbourne Shakespeare Company’s latest laugh-out-loud family musical, Robin Hood. This 60-minute adventure follows Robin Hood and his Merry Band as they swap the green forests of Sherwood for the sunny landscapes of Australia! Along the way, they’ll face off against the dastardly Governor Grabbit, discover the true meaning of friendship, teamwork, and doing the right thing—even when it’s a bit tricky! Full of silly slapstick moments, toe-tapping tunes, and plenty of chances for the whole audience to join in, this is the perfect show for kids, families, and those young at heart who still love a good chuckle.

Robin Hood marks Melbourne Shakespeare Company’s fifth family musical, following the smash hits Telling Tales, The Wacky Wombat, Outback Adventures and Adventures in Neverland. Written by award winning writer Jennifer Sarah Dean (Adventures in Neverland) with Music and Lyrics by Maxwell Simon (The Pirates of Penzance, Moulin Rouge! The Musical) this production brings Robin Hood’s classic tale Down Under with an Aussie twist.

Leading the Merry Band is rising star Lucy May Knight (Ruthless) as Little Joan, alongside Jackson Cross (Blue to the Horizon) as Dame Tuck, Billy Thomas (Morning Melodies) as Robin Hood, Kaia Reyes (All The Things We’ve Done) as the Sheriff of Nottingham, and introducing Daniel Hillman as Bruce the Bushranger (Dickens Street – The Other).
