Making their Arts Centre debut- these likely lads are packing up the station wagon to take you on a sentimental, nostalgic and of course hilarious journey.
Using songs, stories and a carousel of slides, MOTEL is a must for anyone who has checked in and helped themselves to a twin pack of biscuits in a classic Australian motel.
Tim Ross and Kit Warhurst have been mates since their first day at Swinburne University and played in bands together in early 90s. Next Tim started his radio career with Merrick Watts and Kit signed to Modular Records with his much loved Garage Rock outfit Rocket Science.
In 2014 they got together to create Man About the House, a show designed to be performed in architecturally significant homes and buildings. That show has played to literally sold out houses across Australia, New Zealand, UK and US.
MOTEL has carried on this tradition and after debuting in a small 1960s motel room in Brunswick Heads, New South Wales, it’s delighted audiences across the country resulting in a spin off book, the release of Black Dolphin Motel single and Reception This Way, a touring exhibition in conjunction with National Archives of Australia.
