The Melbourne Magic Festival celebrates 19 years at the top

by | May 18, 2026

The Melbourne Magic Festival returns to Melbourne this winter, from June 29 to July 11, for 14 days of spellbinding performances unlike anything you have seen before. Australia’s greatest magicians take the stage alongside confirmed international guests, delivering over 400 outstanding performances filled with breathtaking sleight of hand, mind-bending illusions and jaw-dropping wonders that will leave audiences questioning everything they thought was real.

From family-friendly shows and hands-on workshops to adults-only nights at the Magic Central Bar, the festival offers unforgettable experiences for everyone. Founded in 2008 by the Australian Institute of Magic, the Melbourne Magic Festival has grown into the largest magic festival in the Southern Hemisphere, entirely created and produced by the performers themselves. See it to believe it.

Three International Magic Superstars

Continuing the tradition of showcasing the greatest magicians in the world, this year we have three of the hottest magicians on the planet.

  • Calista Sinclair from Paris with FISM Award Winning stage show. Using illusion to tell the truth about being a female human in this world; will she be burnt at the stake or simply sawn in half?
  • Hernan Maccagno from Argentina with the act that fooled Penn & Teller. Hernan presents us with the existence of a visible world and an invisible one, guiding us constantly through a dazzling sensory journey. Limited to just 20 guests per show.
  • Magical Katrina from Hollywood is best known for her appearance on Chappell Roan’s music video Red Wine Supernova, but she is also the most in demand kids show magician in LA! She will also be presenting her brand new late night show.

Supporting the future of magic

Once again we will be staging the Australian Junior Championships of Magic to uncover our next great magician. Past winners have gone on to perform on America’s Got Talent and headline on Broadway with The Illusionists.

Learn the Art of Magic With classes and workshops for magicians of all ages and all skill levels, there is no easier way to peek behind the velvet curtain and learn a few tricks yourself. The Magic Shop will be open in our foyer, Magic Central, every day with all of the magic equipment you could dream of, and our International Guests will be presenting lectures for Melbourne’s more experienced magicians.

This year, with two weeks of shows in the Arrow Hub, we have 59 different shows doing over 400 performances!
