This year, we continue to uphold our commitment to enriching Melbourne’s arts landscape with a dynamic program that spans genres, styles, and audiences.

Season Highlights:

Three Sisters by Anton Chekhov, directed by Greg Carroll, takes pride of place on the 2025 VCE Theatre Studies Playlist. This iconic work will be helmed by one of Theatre Works’ founding members, marking a poignant return 40 years after our inception. Season March 7-22

The smash hit Beep Test By Connor Neylon & Jackson Peele makes a highly anticipated return after its award-winning premiere at Theatre Works. This fast paced comedic over the top new Australian musical is filled with drama and chaos.

Love and Information by the legendary Caryl Churchill, directed by rising talent Belle Hansen, promises to deliver a kaleidoscopic exploration of modern relationships and society through Churchill’s razor-sharp wit and innovative structure.

The stage adaptation of Anthony Hill’s moving novel Soldier Boy brings a powerful, true Australian story to life, offering audiences a deeply emotional and thought-provoking experience.

Theatre Works is also proud to announce two exciting new partnerships:

Watch This will produce Colour and Light: The Art of Sondheim, a tribute to the genius of Stephen Sondheim through a unique lens.

Antipodes Theatre Company joins forces with us to co-produce Storked by Myf Hocking. Developed as part of our She Writes Collective, this original work showcases the depth of emerging talent fostered by Theatre Works.

As part of our By Theatre Works program, we are excited to present The Machine Stops by Briony Dunn, adapted from the novel by E.M. Forster and starring the incredible Jane Montgomery Griffiths. This thought-provoking production explores the intersection of humanity and technology in a captivating narrative.
