In April, Nathan Hugh Robért performs his show about height, power, and the absurdity of being small at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
Nathan plays a banished king trying to save his kingdom with comedy. The only problem is he’s not a comedian. He’s a king.
Nathan lives with cerebral palsy, a motor neuron condition that limits his mobility. This is implied and baked under layers of absurdity. At its heart, Tiny King is about feeling powerless, body image and self-acceptance.
Influenced by Stewart Lee, John Kearns, and Oliver Coleman, Nathan talks about his experience in an irreverent and disarming way.
After becoming a RAW Victorian State Finalist, Robért has performed at the top clubs around Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Still in the infant stages of his comedy career, Nathan has shared a stage with Rhys Nicholson, Clare Hooper, and Josh Glanc.
After successful runs at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Fringe Festival in 2024, Tiny King returns for a limited run.
